People can be funny. Statistically people watch about four of television per day. That is a lot of boob tube. What cracks me up are the people who claim they do not watch much television, of course “much” is relative. Usually, this statement is delivered with an air of superiority as their mind could not deign to involve itself with something as trivial as TV. Yet, ask them anything about television or pop culture they are first answer. For a segment of the American population that does not watch TV, they always know a lot about it.
This contradiction is troubling, because what do they think we mere mortals suppose they do with their free time? By the way, these individuals also seem to have a lot of free time. Those who I am inclined to actually believe do not watch much television are busy people. Those individuals who work twelve hour days six days a week or a single parent working two jobs to stay afloat. But loafers, slackers, too cool for school types have way too much free time and those who make the little TV claim, never wind up doing anything productive with their free time.
